Updated... Can I trust enough to leave this unwatermarked?
Serephine; Turkish Angora Born 04/24/07 - Actually, she wasn't. But I share my birthday with her.
It's hard for me to describe what this little girl means to me. So here's her story for you all to, hopefully, understand.
Serephine's story In March of 2007, I went to the friday pet market, which is exactly that; a pet market.
I'm one of those people that hate seeing animals in cages... and the Kuwati Friday market is worse then any pet-mill or animal house you can find. It's hard to hear, but it's truthful. Food is scarce for them because the workers don't want to spend money on it. All the cats there are purebred and sell for about 200$ a piece; which is how much I got Serephine for. You'd think that with the money they make off of each animal, they'd atleast feed them. Well, they don't.
It was a long day. About 60c outside and I was covered from head to toe in black. Basically, I was almost ready to fall over but I didn't want to leave without a kitty in my arms. My sister had found her kitten, Schnapps, a tiny grey and white Traditional Persian but it wasn't because she had found one that I wanted one too.. I was so close to tears I was about ready to take the worst cat in there, home. I saw Serephine after my sister pointed her out to me. Serephine was actually one of the healthier ones there. She wasn't bone thin, although she wasn't healthy either. I'm not sure how long she was there for but it could have been up to 3 weeks which is surprising... seeing as she was about a month old and wasn't quite ready to be weaned. 10 minutes later and my Abaya was incredibly covered in white fur, I was now broke, and my little hand-small kitten was trying to nuzzle me... Thats where I thought up the name Serephina. Don't ask me why... But I did. I changed her name about 2 months later to Serephine just because I thought it suited her better.
Serephine's always there if I'm having issues. Serephine is always there next to me when I needed to cry, or when I woke up from a dream shaking... Or if I was having a bad day and felt like I needed someone to talk to. Even though she doesn't respond, she's still listening. Now, I'm in a place where I don't have to worry as much, or be afraid of anything and she's still there for me... Sleeping next to me. She 'nurses' my bathrobe, which I've been told by countless people is because she was weaned much too early... what makes me smile is that she won't ever do it unless I'm right next to her. So, I guess i'm just as much of a support to her as she is to me.
Anyways, here she is today, my little hero. Just for being able to live through what so many animals haven't.
Thats her little story. - - - - - - - - Edits Color Contrast, Gaussian Blur, Sharpen to go over the Gaussion Blur, Another Sharpen, Color Balance, Border added. Picture taken and edited in photoshop by Serepinex
